What this site is
Oddly is an entertainment site with two kinds of articles. Fact-based pieces — Weird Facts, Cosmic Questions, Nature Did It First, How It Started, Odd Places, Kitchen Science and Word Journeys — describe real things: odd animals, science, places, the origins of things and words, and everyday puzzles. Fiction pieces — Tiny Stories, Made-Up Words, Useless Inventions and Animal News — are light, family-friendly creative writing, invented for fun. Every article carries a "Fact-based" or "Fiction" label. Articles are written with the help of an AI model, and every new one is approved by a person before it is published; the illustrations are generated by software.
What this site is not
Oddly is not a newspaper, encyclopedia, or scientific publication. We do not report news or current events, interview real people, or quote real organisations. In the fiction sections, any resemblance to real events, places, people, businesses, or products is coincidental and unintended.
Please do not rely on anything here for medical, legal, financial, scientific, nutritional, safety, or any other kind of decision-making. A "fact," "study," or "expert" in a fiction piece has been imagined for the sake of the story. Fact-based pieces aim to be accurate, but they are written with AI and are not reviewed by specialists, so verify any real-world question with a trustworthy source.

The illustrations on this site are generated by different AI tools. They are not photographs of real people, places, or events.
About AI-generated content
Text on this site is drafted by large language models, and new articles are approved by a person before publication. While the site is configured to avoid political, harmful, or personal content, AI systems can occasionally produce errors, unintended associations, or content that does not match the intended tone. If you find something that seems inappropriate, mistaken, or in poor taste, please let us know and we will correct or remove it.
